Girls

DyeStat Illinois is proud to announce that Anna Sophia Keller of Effingham St. Anthony HS is our 2013 Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Keller, only a freshman, dominated each race that she was in during the fall of 2013. She did not lose a race that she was in last fall. Her average margin of victory heading into the state series was close to 60 seconds. In the IHSA 1A Girls State Cross Country Meet at Detweiller Park, she won the state championship by an incredible 45 seconds. She finished off her season by finishing sixth at the NXN Midwest Regional Meet.

Other runners that we also considered for this honor included Mailin Struck (Riverside-Brookfield HS), Alexa Haff (Central HS, Hinsdale), Mimi Smith (New Trier HS, Winnetka), and Maryjeanne Gilbert (Notre Dame HS, Peoria).

Boys

DyeStat Illinois is proud to announce that Patrick Perrier of O’Fallon HS is our 2013 Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Perrier is a three time all-state runner in cross country. He ended his cross country career in Illinois by winning the 3A Boys State Championship. He was undefeated during the regular season. Perrier set course records at the Southwest Conference Meet in Collinsville and the 3A Edwardsville Sectional at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Mud Mountain Cross Country Course. Perrier was hampered by an ankle injury after the state meet. He still qualified for the Foot Locker Nationals and finished 37^th in that race.

Other runners that we also considered for this honor included Jesse Reiser (McHenry HS), John Wold (Glenbard South HS, Glen Ellyn), Zack Smith (North HS, Downers Grove), Zach Dale (Conant HS, Hoffman Estates), and Jake Hoffert (Yorkville HS).
